Hesham Metwalli

Hesham is a Public Policy and Education Reform advisor in MENA and Australia. He was a founding member of the Dubai School Inspection Bureau where he worked as a Senior Inspector and led the community partnership projects. He then moved to Abu Dhabi as the Director of Inspections and Education Quality with Tribal Group. He has inspected, led and managed the inspections of more than 350 schools across the UAE and MENA. He led the development of the inspection framework for Abu Dhabi government schools and contributed to the development of Dubai Schools Inspection Framework while working for KHDA and Dubai Government. He was involved in managing a national project for the Ministry of Education in the UAE to train and prepare 700 education reform leaders in collaboration with Pearson Education, the UK National College for Leadership and Nottingham University. He also held several senior education leadership roles in Australia.

He has spoken in professional and academic conferences in Japan, Australia and the Middle East on education, improving community outcomes through prosperity, human development and improving government performance. He presented and published several papers on measuring government performance, leadership and developing innovative curricula for Arabic and Islamic Education. He has also engaged in designing and teaching executive education programs for both public and private sector executives. He worked with PwC in Saudi to design and deliver a Business Process Management Program for the senior leaders of Saudi National Bureau for Investigation and Prosecution. He has developed a number of education programs such as: the Prosperity Curriculum, Visible Skills for teacher development and iLead for international schools leaders. Hesham is a certified member of Professor John Hattie’s global Visible Learning team. Hesham has studied Business, International Relations and the Political Economy at the London School of Economics. He is a certified Lead Auditor from PwC, Efficacy Reviewer and Teacher Trainer from Pearson Education and Leadership Facilitator from the National College for Leadership in the UK. Hesham’s life-long project is to develop an international curriculum specific to the needs of MENA region to drive its prosperity and quality of life forward.
