PROFESSOR PHILIP HADCROFT

Professor Hadcroft was a C-level management executive for forty years, working on the executive leadership team of the Asia-Pacific subsidiary of a global, multinational corporation for twenty of them. He held responsibility for corporate strategy and planning, strategic marketing, corporate positioning, market orientation, stakeholder satisfaction measurement, international development, innovation and mergers & acquisitions. Subsequently he founded and for ten years ran the successful international management consultancy Practical Logic Pty Ltd, which was wound up in 2021 when Professor Hadcroft retired from commercial practice to focus on pro bono activities.

 

Formally educated over 10 years of tertiary study whilst working full-time, Philip attained a Master’s Degree in Strategic Marketing, which was awarded ‘with Distinction’ as well as the world’s first PhD in the field of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO). He has always viewed his calling as bridging commercial practice and academic theory. He has implemented conceptual models in practice, brought insightful cases and modified theory into academia, deeply researched both pre-existing theory and operational management practice and has developed and tested new theories and academic constructs for practical application within his chosen industry. To practitioners he is a respected academic; to academics he is valued as an experienced practitioner. He holds three Fellowships and one Senior Fellowship from distinguished industry bodies, was appointed as the official BPO strategy advisor to the Heilongjiang (China) government and has presented at conferences and workshops all over the world.

 

Professor Hadcroft has been associated with AGSL (previously IMIA) since 1991 and has provided tutoring, mentoring, doctoral supervision and thesis examination services as a member of AGSL faculty for over twenty years. He holds particular expertise in market orientation theory, corporate positioning strategy and in case study research method. His personal leadership focus is in enabling high-performing youths (King’s Scouts, Queen’s Guides etc.) to become high-potential young adult leaders, by undergoing life-changing, transformational development training through the schools of Outward Bound International.
Professor Hadcroft lives in Malta, in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, from where he continues to operate globally.
